Two Former Team Members

Before I introduce you to our current (HUGE) team, I wanted to take a moment to introduce two team members that left us not long ago and whom we greatly miss!

Jean was one of our original team members and we ADORED him so. He got along great with the kids and they really liked his calm manner. I greatly valued his calm problem solving skills and his quick thinking in the heat of the moment! Jean was a great asset to our team and we were all sad when he announced he was moving back to where his family lived. I know it was a great move for him, but it was a huge loss for us! Where ever Jean is working now, I KNOW those people are being blessed with his presence!

Veronica came onto our team late, and left early, but sometimes that is the way life happens! We enjoyed her while she was here and I think she made a lasting impact on the kids :) One of the things that I really valued about Veronica was that she NEVER let me get in a "I feel sorry for myself" place. If I was down or moody, she looked around, found what needed done, and was the task master about getting it done! I always felt so much better after we finished even though I was saying not nice things to her in my mind when we started! Veronica too left our team to move back to be with her family, and I pray that she is doing well where she is!

Watch out...
Because soon we are going to be introducing you to our current team!

You Never Know....

With Nathaniel.....

You just NEVER KNOW what you might be asked to do at work.....

Just ask Katie....

Who somehow got convinced to pull out Nathaniel's loose tooth while at work the other night!

I admit it... I HATE loose teeth! But Nathaniel was the one to do the convincing in this case!

(But I way appreciated that she did it!)

Paper Pennants

One of the fun things I have been enjoying making recently is paper pennants. I have made them for birthdays, baby showers, weddings, retirement parties, and even retail booths. They are fun and add just the right amount of personalization to any setting!

This also happens to be one of the things I am the WORST at taking pictures of when I am done, so I have very few pictures to share with you... sorry!
When using an individuals name, I like to make the pennants in pieces, then you can use the name latter somewhere else. For instance, I took Nathaniel's name out of the happy birthday set below and it hangs in his room as a wall decor. It is very cute, and so him!

I know that these are fun and simple, but if you find yourself in a place where you need one made for you I would love to help you out, please just leave me a message or send me an Etsy convo!

Your Local Deal

One of my recent projects was very interesting....

It was a 3 dimensional costume to be used in filming a commercial for a local company.

The concept was a HUGE 3 foot coupon that would make Coupon Man. Coupon Man is a clumsy but helpful dude, who literally runs INTO people and then gives them coupons for what they need. This costume, in addition to needing to be large, needed to be soft and spring back into form in seconds. Each section was filled with 3 inch thick foam to hold it's shape, yet still be soft and springy.

It was a simple and fun project, and unfortunately these pictures do not do it justice, but I think that they do show that I am willing to get creative and do some inventive things!

What is Our Care Team?

Our Care Team is VITAL to life as we know it! These special people help our life run as smoothly as possible, and allow me to be mommy to both children, not matter who needs a little special attention!

We are always looking for people interested in joining our care team!

The client is a special 10 year old boy with multiple medical and neurological needs.

We are looking for caring, compassionate and fun loving individuals to join out care team working in our home.

The ideal candidate for these positions would be individuals who:
  • Have a heart for helping
  • Love to play, especially outside and sports!
  • Are willing to learn about and adjust to his "quirks"
  • Can provide constant one on one supervision while working (sorry but distractions like other children, homework, excessive talking or texting on the phone, etc. will not work with this position)
  • Will be willing to be trained on an existing ABA behavioral plan that is in place and carry out the implementation of said plan.
  • Will be willing to be trained on para medical procedures as needed, including but not limited to, catheterizing, and orthopedic brace care and assistance.
  • Be physically able to be safe during occasional physical tantrums.
  • Be accepting of working in our Christian based home.
  • Be able to clear a Department of Justice background screening.
  • Be willing to be contracted through the funding agencies.
This may look like a lot, but it really is not. We are always looking for a personality match with the skill set, or the willingness to learn the skill set in our home!

Our regular shifts are as follows:
7:00 am to 8:30 am Mon-Fri
4:30 (or 5) pm to 8:30 pm Mon-Fri (usually latter on Wen)
a 4 hour shift on Sat (pretty flexible on timing here)
and 9:15 to noon 2 Sundays per month

Hours do flex some on school holidays and breaks (we usually use more care during those times, not less!)

Our home is located in Los Osos, and compensation will be $10.00 per hour.

Please respond with a brief description of yourself, the hours you are interested in, any related job experience and the best way to reach you if you are interested in joining our team!

Thank you for your interest!
